Winning Story:

My friend Jim went blind about 2 years ago. An avid golfer all of his adult life, to think his "life" was over was unbearable. We joined Ontario Visually Impaired Golfers (OVIG) and hesitantly last year we began to play together. This year he can't wait to get out on the golf course again. This has given him a very large and important part of his life back and I have been inspired by his tremendous passion to restore his "game" to the level it once was. His passion to encourage City of Toronto Golf Courses to accommodate Blind/ VI golfers on their courses is ongoing and the City's cooperation has been astounding! Jim is one of the most deserving of this award, due to his passion for the game of golf and his ability to inspire others to do the same.
